Your appointments are very important to our AOC Salon team professionals. We reserve your appointments just for you, and we ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows your stylist to adjust their schedule and potentially accommodate another client on our waiting list.
Cancellation fees:
Less than 24 hours' notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved appointment(s).
‘No shows’ will be charged 100% of the service amount.
As a courtesy, we call, text, and/or email to confirm your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. If we cannot reach you and leave a message, or if we’re unable to reach you at all, please remember that it’s your responsibility to keep track of your appointment date and time to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees. You are always welcome to call and double-check your appointments if you’re unsure.

We’ll do our best to accommodate you if you’re running late, but please understand that tardiness can affect the rest of our team’s day and delay other clients. We generally allow a 10-minute grace period. After that, we will call to check in on you. If you can still make it in time for your entire service, great! If not, we may need to adjust your service to fit the remaining time. Please call us as soon as you know you might be late, so we can try to fit you in without disrupting our schedule.

We ask that you refrain from using speakerphone in the salon. If you need to make a phone call or listen to a video during your service, please use headphones. As a courtesy to others, we also ask that you silence your cell phones and other devices. Thank you.

We do accept walk-ins, but we recommend booking online or calling in advance to secure your preferred appointment time.

It's important to come in with clean hair, but we recommend not washing your hair the night before, as this can sometimes cause sensitivity.

From the moment you walk through our doors to the time you leave, you can expect the best of everything. You'll be warmly greeted, offered a beverage, and treated to an amazing experience in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Children may not accompany adults during chemical services. However, they are welcome to join you for haircuts as long as they are well-behaved and do not cause distractions or pose any danger to themselves, property, or others.

We want you to be 100% satisfied with your service. If you’re not completely happy, please contact us within 5 days of your appointment so we can schedule a correction free of charge. Any issues reported after 5 days will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

We want you to love the products you use. We accept returns for store credit on any products within 30 days of purchase, as long as at least two-thirds of the product remains.

Yes, we offer haircuts for women, men, and children (8 years and under). Prices may vary depending on the density, length, thickness, or extra time needed for your haircut.

We strive to accommodate all hair types. If a staff member feels they cannot provide the best service for your hair type, they will refer you to a team member who can. If you have concerns, we recommend requesting a complimentary consultation.

Bleach is typically used when trying to achieve a blonding effect. On virgin hair with no cosmetic color from root to end, we can use alternative methods to lighten the hair, but these methods may be limited in how light the hair can become.

AOC Salon is proud to be the only salon in Hampton Roads participating in the Green Circle program. We recycle 95-98% of our salon waste, sending all cut hair to be repurposed into plastic containers or used in oil spill cleanups. We responsibly dispose of chemicals, preventing them from polluting our water systems. By offsetting our environmental impact, we contribute to a greener planet.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our furnishings, with both salons featuring refurbished antiques and repurposed items, such as doors from a local school and dental cabinets. We strive to minimize waste and maximize creativity in every aspect of our business.
